-I got into racing because my dad used to race desert and he wanted me to follow in his footsteps. He raced for most of his life, winning several championships in class 16 and class 12. I started racing BMX when I was four, and the day I turned five I started racing stock cars. I got into short course when I was about eight or nine years old and got second place in my first race.

You made the transition from J1 to J2 karts this season; tell us how your season is going so far?
My first year in J2 is not going too bad. I got on the podium in my third race. I am sitting fifth in points with two races to go. I hope I can stay in fifth place or better. Not too bad for my first season in my J2.
-What was the path you took that got you started in short course racing?
I grew up going to the desert and after a freak accident where my face was burned at age six, I couldn’t go in the direct sunlight for a year. I wanted to ride my dirt bike still, so my dad took me to Barona Oaks where the track and pits were mostly shaded. That is where my racing journey began! My short course racing started with the invite from Jason Weller to drive his SR1 for one race in 2012. Soon after I had him build me a ca and I have been hooked ever since!
I have always liked driving cars. When I was little my mom would come home from work and I would get in the car, stand on her lap and she would let me drive the car up and down the street. I also had a little electric jeep I would drive in my back yard. My family also likes to go dirt bike riding and I would always ride my quad. I wanted to drive our Polaris RZR, but I didn’t fit, so we set out to find something my size. In this mission to find a car that would work for me, my dad took me to watch a race and we saw Hailie Deegan win! That really got the ball rolling! My Uncle Mike actually found some Trophy Karts for sale, and we ended up buying a car from the Dickersons, who also race.
